Are we heading to a world with more virtual assistants than people?
Artificial intelligence is undoubtedly the greatest technological leap of all time. Some tech futurists have said it is even more important than the discovery of fire.
AI came to change our lives from how we relate to virtual assistants like Google and Alexa, to the algorithms that show us the products or services in social media that we might be interested in buying.
Are we ready for artificial intelligence?
When we talk about virtual assistants, Samsung has Bixby, Amazon has Alexa, Microsoft has Cortana, Google with its virtual assistant and Apple with the famous Siri that little by little have been taking over a small space in our homes and smartphones, but what is the true extent of these? Well, neither more nor less than they are learning our habits and customs in addition to automating many of the daily tasks. The greatest importance of these assistants is their ability to establish a dialogue with the user and maintain this interaction even in situations outside the context of the conversation. Using Natural Language Processing (NLP), these assistants improve and LEARN from interactions with users. This is where the real magic happens: LEARNING lies at the core of artificial intelligence.
